Mr. Jock Armitage was one of the founding members of St. George's College and the first Head of Mathematics. The trophy, presented in his honour, is awarded to the graduating student deemed the most outstanding mathematician over his high school career.
From 2004 to present the Jock Armitage Senior Mathematics Award has been presented to a grade twelve graduating student.
In 2003, the double cohort year, the Jock Armitage Senior Mathematics Award was presented to a graduating student from both grades twelve and thirteen (OAC).
Up to 2002 the Jock Armitage Senior Mathematics Award was presented to a grade thirteen (OAC) graduating student.

The Sun Life Financial Canadian Open Mathematics Challenge is the premiere contest for senior mathematics students in Canada. It is 2.5 hours in length, comprised of 12 long-answer questions, and out of 80 marks.
The Descartes Mathematics Contest was a 2.5 hour, long-answer contest, out of 100 marks, for outstanding senior secondary mathematics students. It was primarily aligned to the Ontario Grade 13 mathematics curriculum, including calculus and linear algebra. 2002 was its final year.
The Euclid Mathematics Contest is a 2.5 hour, 10 question long-answer contest for senior mathematics students. It is out of 100 marks.
The Pascal (Grade 9), Cayley (Grade 10) and Fermat (Grade 11) contests are 60 minutes in length and comprised of 25 multiple-choice questions. Each is out of 150 marks.
The American Mathematics Contest 12 (AMC12) is a 25 question, 75 minute multiple-choice contest for senior mathematics students. It is out of 150 marks.
The American Invitational Mathematics Examination (AIME) is an invitational contest for students earning a score of 100 or more on the AMC12 contest. The 3 hour contest is comprised of 15 challenging long-answer questions.
Up to 1999 the contest was known as "The AHSME" or American High School Mathematics Examination. It was renamed the AMC12 in 2000.
Entrance to the RSGC AP Calculus Hall of Fame is by earning a "5" on the AB or BC examinations. Congratulations gentlemen!
